Iva C. Hoover Wakeman, 98, Beech Grove, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010. Mrs. Wakeman was born August 29, 1911 in Logansport to the late John & Minnie Hoover. She was a homemaker and member of the Beech Grove Senior Center where she was crowned Queen in 2009. She was also an active member of the Southwood Baptist Church in Beech Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Howard Wakeman and a son, Robert Wakeman. Survivors include her son, Richard Wakeman; granddaughters, Helen Oldfather, Shirley Dawson, Teresa Burkamp, Juanita Capatina, Yvonne Wakeman; grandson, William Wakeman; 17 great- grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren. Services will be Monday, January 11th at 1 P.M. in the Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel, with visitation there from 10 A.M. until time of service. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Miami, Florida.
