Mildred Lorene Abbott Monday, 88, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in her home. She was born on July 29, 1921 in Monticello, Kentucky to Doc and Bonnie Marie (Kennedy) Abbott. Mildred was the widow of Joel Monday. She is survived by her children; Connie Colip, Carolyn Denton, Paula Hopper, Michael Monday, Thomas Monday, Jeffrey Monday, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great- grandchildren, and sisters Grace Pace and Kathleen Butler-Helvie. Mildred was a member of the Northeast Church of Christ. She had worked in the kitchen of Arlington High School. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel, 5342 E. Washington St. with visitation at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Richard Freeman will be officiating. Interment will the in the Sutherland Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
