Damon P. Lawrence, 87, Carmel, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Mr. Lawrence was an electrical technician at the former Naval Avionics for 20 years, retiring in 1983. He was a WWII Army veteran. Mr. Lawrence was a ham radio enthusiast (W9YHY) and a former member of the American Radio Relay League. He had been an Eastside resident since 1947. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Brothers Lawrence and a sister, Mary Jaeger. Survivors include his children, Steven B. (Eva) Lawrence, Stuart E. (Lisa) Lawrence and Stanley L. (Donna) Lawrence; sister, Martha Haworth; grandchildren, Sheri Lawrence-Davies, Kyle Lawrence, Katie Lawrence-Darby, Daniel Lawrence, Stacey Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Zachary Davies, Kaiya Darby, Carter Lawrence and Benjamin Darby. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home with funeral services Saturday at 11 a.m. Graveside services follow at 2:30 p.m. in Blakesburg Cemetery, Fincastle, Indiana.
