Rev. Richard J. Mueller, 91, Indianapolis, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, May 1, 2010 in Marquette Manor. Fr. Mueller was born July 9, 1918 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Charles G. & Lena Hook Mueller. He was ordained on May 30, 1944 and seved as assistant pastor of St. John Catholic Church. He also served as secretary in the chancery office and was founding pastor of Our Lady of Greenwood. In 1973 he was appointed pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes and was associate pastor of St. Pius X from 1983 until 1985. Fr. Mueller was a pro-synodal judge and an auditor for the Metropolitan Tribunal. An expert in liturgical matters, Father served on the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission for many years and appointed its chair in 1982. He is survived by 7 nieces and 1 nephew. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday. May 18th in SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral, 1347 N. Meridian St. with visitaion there from 9 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
