Floyd D. Reinken, 90, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 31, 2010. He was born on February 8, 1920 to Albert and Caroline (Huter) Reinken. Floyd was an optician for White-Haines Optical retiring in 1984. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving 35 missions as a waist gunner/top turret gunner/engineer on a B-17 in the 385th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force based at Great Ashfield, Suffolk, England. He was a member of the Southeastern Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Medley Reinken, daughter, Judy (Bruce) Oakley, grandchildren Lauren and Brian Oakley, and many neices and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home; Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel, 5342 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, with visitation at the funeral home on Friday, June 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
