Thomas H. Richmond, 53, of Austin, Indiana died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born May 28, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Steward Richmond Jr. and Eva Blanche (Boland) Richmond who survives. Tom was married Dec. 3, 1999 to Sandy (Hamelman) Richmond, who survives. He was a retired utilities foreman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons and worked at the Federal Correction Institution in Ashland, Kentucky, U.S. Penitentiary in Marion, Illinois and Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, West Virginia and he also worked as a parttime 911 dispatcher for Scott County Dispatch. He served during the Vietnam War as a BT2 in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Scott County Sheriff\'s Posse. Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include four sons: Thomas H. Richmond, Jr. of Lincoln, Illinois, William S. Richmond of Sterling, Alaska, Anthony C. Richmond of Johnson City, Illinois & Justin C. Richmond of Marion, Illinois and a sister: Regenia Cook of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by a sister: Donna Harrah. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Scottsburg Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: Relay For Life or the Arthritis Foundation c/o Collins Funeral Home.
