Emma Nettie "Granny" Kelly, 88, of Scottsburg, Indiana died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Green Meadows Health Care Center in Mt. Washington, Kentucky. She was born September 27, 1921 in Ganges, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Leon Webster Atwater and Bertha Augusta (Wicks) Davis. Emma was a homemaker, attended the Alpha Baptist Church near Deputy, Indiana, lived most of her adult life in Theodore, Alabama before moving to Scottsburg and then to Mt. Washington, Kentucky, was a member of the Indiana Women's Bowling League and was an avid bowler until age 80. Survivors include three daughters: Nora (Buck) Menasco of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Patricia Roberts of Mt. Washington, Kentucky & Regina Bray of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sons: Ed (Paulette) Kelly of Theodore, Alabama & Thomas (Vickie) Kelly of Bay Minette, Alabama and a sister: Ethel Wenzel of Saganaw, Michigan. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren. Emma was preceded in death by her mother & stepfather: Bertha Augusta & Clarence Davis; father & stepmother: Leon Webster & Dorothy Atwater; two sisters: Marjorie Atwater & Doris Maher; a brother: Charles Davis and a granddaughter: Tina Bray Smith. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: Alzheimer's Research or Parkinson's Foundation c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
