David E. King David E. King, 78, of Grandview, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville, IN. He was born in Evansville, July 2, 1931 to James Edward and Marjie (Fisher) King. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War and was a life member of the American Legion and VFW. Mr. King was a past president of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #136. He was very active with the Boy Scouts and received the George Meaney award for his work with the scouts. He also was awarded the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts. David is preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Garrett Rainey. He is survived by his companion, Norma Moore; children, Anthony King (Becky) of Evansville, Raymond King of Scottsdale, AZ., RaNae King Rainey (Phil) of Ft. Branch, IN; grandchildren, Nicholas King (Kristy), Joseph King (Angie), Joshua King (Sarah), Jason Rainey (Michelle), and Brandon Rainey; great-grandsons, Dorian, Brayden, and David; sister, Joan King Monroe, long-time friend Carolyn Reis and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks to Select Specialty Hospital and Deaconess Hospice Care for their care and compassion. Services in Rockport, IN will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 5th & Broadway, Rockport, Indiana. Reverend Larry Van Kamp will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to service time at the church. Services in Evansville will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN. Visitation will be from noon to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop # 105, P. O. Box 162, Rockport, IN 47635. Condolences may be made @titzerfuneralhomes.com.
