Charles Henry Probus, 79, of Newburgh, died July 25, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was born February 18, 1931 in Hardinsburg, KY. Charles is survived by one son, Neal Probus and his wife, Laresa of Newburgh; daughter-in-law, Jill Probus of Newburgh; one brother, Denver Probus and his wife, Brenda of Irvingon, KY. He leaves three grandsons, Steven, Jason, Hunter; one granddaughter, Paige; a great-grandson, Conner; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta and his son Jeff. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Alcoa as a truck shop foreman. He loved building furniture and collecting and refurnishing antiques. He also enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing with family and friends, and auto racing. Funeral service is 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W Jennings St , Newburgh , Ind. (812) 853-8314. Rev. David Schwambach will officiate and burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
