Harold C. Busing, 89, of Elberfeld, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009. Harold was born on September 14, 1920, to Roy and Helen Busing and was raised in Johnson Township in southeast Gibson County. He graduated from Haubstadt High School, went to Indiana Institute of Mortuary Science and then resided in Elberfeld for the remainder of his life. He was in the United States Navy during World War II, worked at the Heldt family funeral home, owned and operated Elberfeld Auto Sales, worked in real estate, and was also employed with Amax Coal Company. He enjoyed collecting antiques, building wooden toys and furniture, and playing cards. He was a past member of New Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Elberfeld. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in 2004. Surviving are two sons, Jack and his wife Rosalyn of Elberfeld; Lynn and his wife Debra of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Jeff Busing and his wife Amy of Ft. Branch; Gina Schultz and her husband Tim of Elberfeld; John, Ryan, and Lauren Busing of Atlanta, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Audrey Schultz; half-brother, Leroy Busing of Naples, Florida; step-sister, Joyce Wheeler of Evansville; aunt, Opal Hartley of Elberfeld; and a niece, nephew, and cousins. Visitation will be at Titzer Family Funeral Home in Elberfeld from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010. Private services will be Tuesday with burial at North View Cemetery in Elberfeld. In lieu of flowers, remembrance can be made to the University of Evansville.
