F. Jeanne Short, age 81 passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010. She was a resident of Trafalgar. She was born on March 13, 1929 in Marion County to Donald LaFary and Inez (Flake) Henderson. She married Charles Robert "Bob" Short on February6, 1948. They celebrated sixty-two years of marriage this year. Bob lovingly survives in Trafalgar. Other survivors include children, Mike (Monica) Short of Trafalgar; Sandy (Sam) Hoagland of Franklin; Sheila (John) Heidenreich of Trafalgar and Bobbi Short of Fishers; grandchildren, Shannon (J.R.) New of Morristown; Sam (Ryan) Hoagland of Whiteland; Magan Short of Trafalgar and Jenny (Chris) Thompson of Trafalgar; great- grandchildren, Elexie and Conner New and Kaylee and Karley Hoagland; brothers Wayne LaFary of Bargersville and Gary (Jeanne) LaFary of Martinsville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by granddaughter, Carrie Clayburn; sister, Ermallee Bough and brother, David LaFary. She attended Greene Township Schools and was a 1947 graduate of Martinsville High School in Martinsville, Indiana. Jeanne was a statistical typist for many years. She was for thirty years employed by Arthur Anderson and Associates, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Providence Christian Church where she served as a Sunday school Teacher and held many offices with the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a volunteer for several years with the Lord's Cupboard. Jeanne was involved in 4-H in her early years. She loved watching pro baseball and pro basketball with the Atlanta Braves and Detroit Pistons being her favorite teams. Jeanne enjoyed reading. She and her husband Bob traveled all fifty states and enjoyed spending several winters in Florida and Alabama. The most enjoyment that she received was watching her children and grandchildren play in sports. Rev. Steve Sorensen will conduct a service on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Harris Cemetery in Johnson County.
