Johnnie Michael Dicken, age 60, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis. He was born on February 16, 1950 in Franklin, Indiana to Willie Ed and Martha Erma (Conner) Dicken. He married Ruth Stuckey Dicken on February 16, 2001. She lovingly survives. Other survivors include step- children, Dr. Kristen Sparks and Alison (Rich) Pluntz; four brothers, Donald E. (Patricia) Dicken, Paul L. (Susie) Dicken and Junior (Jeanie) Dicken, all of Franklin; and Charles W. (Cathy) Dickens, Trafalgar; three sisters, Barbara S. Blackwell, Patricia A. (Hubert) Hayes and Benji and Jane Hudson, all of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in passing by his parents, brother, James D. Dicken and two sisters, Mary L. James and Leta J. Relken. Johnnie attended Franklin Community High School. He was employed by Simon Properties in Indianapolis at Washington Square Mall working in Maintenance for the past ten years. Johnnie enjoyed playing poker. He had been a dog person and he and his wife rescued a cat out of a tree, "Freddie Boo" and he become a cat lover. They also have another cat, Daisy. In July 2000, Johnnie was saved and released from Alcohol addiction. His life was full of love, enjoyment and fulfillment with his release from alcohol. His love for his brothers and sisters was immeasurable. Kenny Woods will conduct a celebration of Johnnie's life on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
