Mary Lou Johnson, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin United Methodist Community. She was born on August 19, 1927 in Morgantown, Indiana to Ora and Emily (Tatman) Hickey. She married M.L. "Beezer" Johnson on August 17, 1951. He survives. Other survivors include her daughter Carolyn Ansari (Mohammed); granddaughters Shirin Ansari (Isaac Salazar), Safia Ansari, Shahana Ansari; and great-granddaughter Ayesha. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Juele Szuchmanski; and brother William Hickey. Mary Lou attended schools in Morgantown, Mooresville, and Paoli. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1945. She went on to graduate from Indiana University in 1949. She then received her Masters Degree from Butler University. She taught school in Brookville, Martinsville, and Franklin. She taught elementary school in Franklin at Payne and Webb schools. Rev. Peter Jessen will conduct a service on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 2:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Madison Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Friends may call from 12:00pm until the service time at the church. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin is handling arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Madison St. Franklin, Indiana 46131; the Grace United Methodist Church 1300 E. Adams Dr. Franklin, Indiana 46131; or to the Morgantown Methodist Church.
