Robert Locke, 91, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident at the Franklin United Methodist Community. He was born on August 28, 1918 in Indianapolis to Dewey and Cloe Locke. He married Elizabeth Rugh on June 5 1940. She preceded him in passing. Survivors include his daughter Teri Duke (Steve) of Franklin; his sons Thomas Alan Locke (Margaret) of Ligonier, In; Robert Locke of Indianapolis; Steven Michael Locke (Linda Kilis) of Colorado Springs, Co; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his parents and wife Elizabeth. Mr. Locke was a graduate of Tech High School in Indianapolis; He also attended the Cleveland Art Institute. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was a Lithographer-Litho Press. He taught techniques of printing at Central 9 Vocational School and at Franklin High School. Mr. Locke was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin; Franklin Lions Club where he was on the board of trustees; Club Woodsmoke where he was on the board; He was a local musician having played with many regional bands; he was an avid model train hobbyist. A service will be conducted on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 4:00pm at the Franklin United Methodist Community Wright Chapel. Friends may call from 2:00pm until the service time. Flinn & Maguire F.H. in Franklin is handling the arrangements.
