William Winfield "Bill" Lowder, age 69, passed away on Wednesday evening June 16, 2010 at his residence in Franklin. He was born on December 29, 1940 in Indianapolis to Harry Robert and Thelma (Branham) Lowder. He married Joyce Faye (Richardson) Lowder on April 10, 1976. She lovingly survives in Franklin. Other survivors include his mother Thelma Lowder of Coatesville; children Angela (Richard) Kurtz Clark of Franklin; Michael Kurtz of Indianapolis and Lucinda Lowder Linder of Florida. Pop was adored by his grandchildren Andrew Clark of Indianapolis; and Madeleine, Mason and Maxwell Clark, all of Franklin. He is also survived by brother Robert (Della) Lowder of Indianapolis; and sisters Linda (Dennis) McLain of Raleigh, North Carolina; Sherry (Richard) Evans of Rossville; Terri (Steve) Durham of Monrovia; Kathy (Mike) Flake of Coatesville and Elizabeth (Art) Landing of Pasadena, California and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in passing by his father Harry Robert Lowder. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Southport High School. He was employed by McLean Trucking in Indianapolis for twenty years. He was an owner and a Dental Technician for Lowder Dental Laboratory in Franklin. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee. Bill was very involved with fund raising efforts for multiple myeloma research. Very dear to Bill's heart was driving the support vehicle for the annual "Miles for Myeloma" run/bike event. All proceeds from the event fund research for myeloma at I.U. Myeloma Research Center. Rev. Andy Kinsey will conduct a celebration of life service on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 East Adams Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Friends may call on Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. In lieu of flowers, the family of William Lowder suggests donations be made to the IU Simon Cancer Center Multiple Myeloma Research Fund.
