Robert E. "Bob" Jung, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at his residence in Franklin. Born October 25, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mary Agnes (Frohne) Perry. Bob married Nancy (Nelson) Jung on May 21, 1960. She lovingly survives in Franklin. He is also survived by son Robert "Bob" Jung, II who resides in Madison and step-father Paul Perry of Franklin. He was a graduate of Tilden Tech High School in Chicago, Illinois. He was a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1959 as a military policeman. Bob served six months in the Nevada Desert in Area 51. He was a hair dresser and shop owner for thirty-eight years operating "Mr. J's Golden Budha". Bob was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205. He was a past president of the Franklin City Planning and Zoning Board. Bob volunteered as a reading tutor through the Johnson County Public Library-Franklin Literacy Program at the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Friends may call on Saturday, July 24th from 9:00 a.m. to time of mass at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin where military rites will be conducted by the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin, Indiana and or the donors' favorite charity.
